Sun Country Airlines is an American low-cost airline based in Mendota Heights, Minnesota. Its main hub is Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport. Founded in 1982 by the tour operator MLT Vacations and a small group of employees coming from Baniff International Airways, the company rapidly expanded operating scheduled, charter and military flights. In 2001 Sun Country closed, but it was immediately acquired and re launched by MN Airlines. Now Sun Country flies to United States, Mexico and the Caribbean operating regular and seasonal, scheduled and charter flights.
