Flybe is an English airline based in Exeter and is one of the Europe's largest low-cost airlines. It flies around 100 routes to more than 40 airports in the UK and Western Europe. Its main base is the Exeter International Airport, but it has further bases in the UK. Founded in 1979 as Jersey European Airways, in 1983 was acquired by the Walkersteel Group, which also owned the charter airline Spacegrand. In 1985 those two airlines were amalgamated under the Jersey European Airways name. In 2002 the company was re branded as Flybe and remodelled as a low fare airline. Now it is mainly owned by Rosedale Aviation Holdings.
